Georgia Southeast Regional Conference on Domestic Violence Child Sexual Abuse and Human Trafficking

Georgia Legislative Black Caucus; Administration for Children and Families, The Gospel Tribune Atlanta; Beverly Cunningham Outreach Program; and the Positive Arts Movement have partnered to present 

Georgia Southeast Regional Conference on Domestic Violence Child Sexual Abuse and Human Trafficking on September 22, 2015 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at Atlanta Metropolitan State College. 

Conference objectives are as follows:

To connect, inspire, and empower young adults, parents, business leaders, educators, advocates, government officials, and the community at large to become aware of and take action against domestic violence, child sexual abuse, and human trafficking. 

Our plan is to have four hundred youth and adults session. We are requesting your organization to become a partner or co-partner in this effort. Please spread this information to all your colleagues in the above fields.

For 100 years, our superheroes at Children's have fought villains that most of us could never imagine. One superhero patient in particular faced her scary villain, cancer, with amazing strength and courage.Hudson Lillystone was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) when she was just 4 years old.

When she put on the blue cape that a family friend made for her during her inpatient stay at the Aflac Cancer Center, "Super Hudson" channeled the power and inspiration of her favorite superheroes.

As our community readies for Cape Day Part Two: 100 Years Strong, we invite you to be a sidekick for patients like Hudson by donning your own cape on Tuesday, Sept. 15, and posting photos on social media using #CapeDayATL.

A limited number of anniversary capes are available for order online until this Friday, so act now to have yours for the big day.Proceeds from the capes sales benefit our not-for-profit hospital.

Together, we will rally together for our tiniest superheroes who face seemingly insurmountable odds battling illnesses and injuries.

With a cape, anything is possible.
