Atlanta, GA- On Sunday July 12, 2015 Hosea Helps will continue their summer efforts by hosting it's 11th annual Back-To-School Jamboree to take place at the Turner Field (Blue Parking Lot) from 10am - 3pm. The highly anticipated event takes place each year in an effort to provide over 1200 children in need with a backpack full of school supplies to help prepare for the upcoming school year. With the support of local media outlets and corporate sponsors such as Kanner and Pintaluga, Amerigroup, Walmart, Home Depot, and many more, Hosea Helps continues to support the community by empowering Atlanta's youth with the tools they need to be successful in school and later in life.
In addition to receiving a backpack of supplies, children will receive health screenings, clothing, fresh produce and vegetables. There will also be computers available on a first come first serve basis. " Hosea Helps is committed to ensuring that students are equipped with resources they need to fully encourage the learning process. " said Elisabeth Omilami, President and CEO of Hosea Helps. "During this year's event, we will also offer supplies to teachers in an effort to offset the hundreds of dollars they personally spend to provide the necessary supplies for their students and classrooms." The event is open to all families. Admission is free and children must be present to receive supplies. Parents are reminded to bring identification for each child.
Currently, Hosea Helps is seeking additional donations of schools supplies, such as: pencils, ink pens, notebooks, book bags, scissors, calculators, and more. A complete list of needs for this event can be found online at www.4Hosea.org. Donations can be made at 1035 Donnelly Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.
