In partnership with Cascade United Methodist Church, the Fulton County
District Attorney’s Office, State Senator Horacena Tate, and State
Representatives Roger Bruce and Wendell Willard invite you to join us
this Wednesday December 14th, 2016. The program “Our Children, Juvenile
Justice and the Community – The Analysis and Healing begins at Cascade
United Methodist Church,” will be held at Cascade United
Methodist Church located at 3144 Cascade Road SW, Atlanta, Ga, 30311,
from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. We will discuss juvenile crime, and it is our
hope that citizens will leave informed and lasting partnerships will be
created.
This program will
allow us to reflect and begin taking the steps to revamp and reform our
juvenile justice system by focusing on:
1. How the juvenile justice point system used to detain delinquents works;
2. Observations from case studies that analyze juveniles in the criminal justice system;
3. Unintended consequences due to gaps in the competency statute for juveniles;
4. Recommendations from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office to better serve our youth, community and ultimately justice for all citizens.
Please see below and contact Danielle Simpson at Simpson@fultoncountyga.gov for more information.
