PART II: Fantasy Camp with Basketball All-Stars

$5,000 per couple or per parent/child (includes skills challenge and shoot around with players, as well as autograph session)
$1,000 per additional guest for the Fantasy Camp (only available if you have contributed at the $5,000 level for two people above)

The Fantasy Camp: Hoopsters and Obama supporters will have the opportunity to participate in a once in a lifetime behind the scenes basketball experience with some of basketball's greats. Adults and children will have the chance to learn from the best through a series of activities simulating a professional practice experience. In addition to skill training, players and legends will share their training regiments as well as their personal insights on the game. Lastly, participants will be divided into teams and compete against each other while being coached by their hardwood heroes! Purchase to this event also includes admission to autograph session.

Atlanta University Center HBCU Obama Student Summit #ATLHBCUSUMMIT

The Democratic National Committee and Obama for America will be hosting an Atlanta University Center HBCU Summit on February 21^st, 2012 from 6:00pm- 8:00pm EST.



This event will be held on Clark Atlanta University’s campus, located at the Student Center, 223 James P Brawley Drive, Atlanta, Georgia, and hosted by the Student Government Associations from Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College and Morris Brown College.

During this event, featured speakers will include, actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, political strategist Michael Eric Dyson and other surprise celebrity guests.

Mom Blogger for Obama 2012

A Kentuckian revved up his engine to race on the freeway, then peered over at me and flashed “the bird.” I looked towards my husband and started laughing in shock, because I hadn’t gotten the finger in awhile. Not even in Atlanta traffic.

We both couldn’t figure out why he wanted to race, let alone why I got the middle finger from a stranger. Process of elimination went into effect. Maybe our kids in the back seat frowned at him and that got his blood boiling. Or maybe he was upset that our car was faster than his.

Then the "Ah Ha" moment hit us. That’s it! It was the Obama window decal. He was ticked off that we were Obama supporters. We let his anger roll off our backs and went on our way, taking the higher road of nonviolence and overlooking ignorance.

The upcoming elections caused me to reflect on this incident. My stand is this: I’ll take the bird for Obama. I’ll stand up in red neck central with a bullhorn and scream out his name. I’ll cast my vote again and again for Obama. People are too busy being ignorant and bashing Obama instead of supporting him. I can imagine that people think being against Obama is what’s popular, not realizing that he’s for the “little man,” who is the blue collar worker that struggles to put food on the table. Get off the movement to bash Obama, and jump on the train to support him.
