The Pink Power: A MasterMind Conference for Women will kick off Thursday, August 14 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis with a series of brand-building and professional development workshops followed by an Awards Gala honoring several  distinguished women in business:

Hosted by Sister 2 Sister Magazine founder Jamie Foster Brown, the Awards Gala will celebrate a prestigious group of women who have exhibited power, confidence, success and the ability to conquer adversity while maintaining dignity and integrity.

Additional gala participants include Dr. Heavenly Kimes (entrepreneur/tv personality), Tameka Raymond (Kiles World Foundation), and Towanda Braxton (actress/tv personality).

The conference continues Friday, August 15 at Philips Arena with seminars by top industry experts who will focus on core areas such as personal branding, equal rights, wellness, sustainability, social media and the three major “ships” that will change the course of a woman’s road to success: leadership, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. Speakers include Dr. Erika H. Chairman Eaves' "Back-To-School Kickoff" Expands to Provide More Services to  
Area Youth 
Additional organizations join County Commission Chair to help kids start the school year 
ATLANTA - Several additional organizations have agreed to work with Fulton County Commission Chairman John H. Eaves to help young people begin another exciting and productive academic year on a successful note.  They will be participants in Chairman Eaves' "Back to School Kickoff" at the Atlanta Technical College on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.    

A Back-To-School Kick Off Fair will now take place in ATC's Auditorium, located on the second floor in the Academic Complex.  At that event, Atlanta Public Schools, Get Covered America, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System's eCampus, SisterLove, Mental Health In The African American Community, Inc. (MHAAC), One LIFE Foundation, and Urban Asset Builders, Inc. will provide area information on services available to young people and their families.  DTLR clothing company will provide discounts and promotional items for participants to take home from the event.
Those organizations join representatives from Fulton County departments who will be on hand to provide information on county programs that help young people including S.T.A.R.T. (Services to Advance, Reach & Teach Youth), Kinship Care for children raised by a relative and Teen DADS, a life skills program for young fathers.  Parents and students can also learn about proper nutrition, stress management and healthy living. In addition to those events, there will be children's story time, music, crafts and games for the young people in attendance.

In the Barbering Department on the main level of the Academic Complex, barbers will be on hand to provide free haircuts to students.  School supplies will also be given to young people to make sure they are ready to start the year.  ATC visitors are advised to enter the Back-To-School Kick Off from the front main entrance of the Academic Building, located in the roundabout area on campus through the red awning.

For this event, Chairman Eaves had already partnered with the Fulton County Office of Children and Youth, the Fulton County Department of Health & Wellness, Atlanta Technical College, Georgia 4-H, Young Entrepreneurs of Atlanta Foundation, Inc., the Young Generation Movement and 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc.

Join Chairman John Eaves for National Night Out 2014

The Fulton County Police Department, in partnership with Fulton County agencies and local neighborhoods are joining forces with thousands of communities across the nation to celebrate and participate in National Night Out 2014.

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual crime and drug prevention event. Each year the Fulton County Police Department looks forward to sharing information with Fulton County residents about ways to form partnerships to help make their neighborhoods safe places to live, work and play.

Join Chairman John Eaves for “National Night Out” on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., at the 112 Mega-Plex located at 5495 Old National Highway, College Park, GA 30349.

National Night Out is organized to heighten crime awareness and support for crime and drug prevention efforts sending a message to criminals that neighborhoods are working together and fighting back against crime. Additionally, it strengthens neighborhoods and police and community partnerships.
