Atlanta Mission Day: Presented by National Church Residences

National Church Residences provides housing and supportive services for seniors and vulnerable individuals, and enables them to live healthier and more satisfying lives.  On Friday, August 25, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., National Church Residences will host its’ annual Atlanta Mission Day, a special day for residents, families, businesses, and the community.

Atlanta Mission Day is the largest fundraiser event organized by National Church Residences. The event benefits residents of their seven senior affordable housing communities and one permanent supportive housing community. Each property will champion fundraising efforts for their seniors’ property needs.
Mission Day has been a grassroots fundraiser that takes place in National Church Residences communities across the country,” said National Church Residences Executive Vice President of External Affairs and Strategic Initiatives Michelle Norris. “It is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and donations to support future programs, improvements and initiatives.”

All eight National Church Residences properties in metro Atlanta will participate in Atlanta Mission Day include:

  • Baptist Towers, 1881 Myrtle Drive, SW, Atlanta, GA 30311
  • Betmar Village, 345 Ashwood Avenue, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315
  • Big Bethel Village, 500 Richard Allen Boulevard, SW, Atlanta, GA 30331
  • Commons at Imperial Hotel, 355 Peachtree Center Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30308
  • Lakewood Christian Manor, 2141 Springdale Road, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315
  • Panola Gardens, 5710 Snapfinger Woods Drive, Lithonia, GA 30058
  • Trinity Towers, 2611 Springdale Road, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315
At 11:00 a.m. National Church Residences staff at Trinity Towers, located at 2611 Springdale Road, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315 will host a special program featuring key elected officials, and residents who have been true advocates for seniors, affordable housing, and healthcare.

Although festivities at the properties will vary, invited guests will enjoy a variety of fun activities such as: vendors, games, walk-a-thons, fish fry, pizza party, bake sales, music, giveaways, speeches by city, county, and state officials and citywide candidates, and much more. 
Community partners for the event include Monarch Private Capital and JenCare.

Atlanta Hawks and Grady Hospital to Launch New Baby Club Program

The Hawks and Grady Hospital Unveil Exclusive Baby Club “Welcome” Kits for All Born at New Women’s Center on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Grady Hospital, Women’s Center 80 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive SE, Atlanta, GA  30303. Featured speakers will include: Dr. Jackie Herd – Chief Nursing Officer, Grady Health System, Steve Koonin – CEO, Atlanta Hawks and Philips Ariana, Taurean Prince – Forward, Atlanta Hawks, and Ryan Cameron – V103 On-Air Host and Atlanta Hawks P.A. Announcer.

Grady Health System and the Atlanta Hawks will introduce a new phase in their long standing partnership with the announcement of the Hawks Baby Club. The exclusive program will present each baby born at Grady Hospital with a special “Welcome to the Club” package. The initiative also serves to highlight the recent expansion and renovation of the hospital’s Women’s Center. Dr. Herd and Koonin will offer remarks at the press conference hosted by Cameron. The Hawks Baby Club Welcome Kits will be unveiled and Hawks rookie forward Taurean Prince along with several families with children who were recently born at Grady will also be in attendance.

South Fulton Residents Invited to Have Coffee With A Cop


The Fulton County Police Department and Cascade Civic Alliance will be hosting Coffee with a Cop at the Southwest Branch Library, 3665 Cascade Road, SW, Atlanta, GA 30331 on Thursday,
January 5, 2017 from 10am to Noon.

Citizens are invited to meet with police officers over a cup of coffee, to discuss issues of concern that affect their community. Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for citizens to ask questions and learn more about the department’s
work in Fulton County.
