Stand for Peace
10th Anniversary
Stand for Peace
with Congressman John Lewis, Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery and Mrs. Evelyn Lowery
The
war in Afghanistan has become America's forgotten war, but 80,000
American troops are still fighting in Afghanistan and they're dying at a
rate of one per
day. The most recent American death toll is 1,968. These casualties are
in addition to 2,332 deaths of Afghan civilians since the start of the
war. We stand to remember. We stand to put an end to unnecessary
violence and death. We stand for reductions of military
spending and funding instead for human and environmental needs. We will
continue to stand until all the troops come home.
Join Georgia WAND,
Congressman John Lewis, Rev. Dr. Joseph E Lowery and Mrs. Evelyn Lowery
this Friday to mark ten years of Standing
for Peace!
Noon at Peachtree and 14th Street.
