Meet Vicki Chancellor Local McDonald's Owner/Operator #McMomsATL

I recently had the opportunity to interview Vicki Chancellor, a Owner/Operator of seven McDonald's in the Metro Atlanta area. Her husband, an Atlanta University graduate wanted to own a business, but didn't know which one.  He researched several businesses, and came across McDonald's.  After volunteering and later working at a local restaurant, he submitted an application to become a Owner/Operator and was approved. "We lived in Charlotte, North Carolina at the time and McDonald's offered us a restaurant in Atlanta. We moved to Atlanta, and I began helping my husband out in the back office," Chancellor said. 

"It's a business that you can past down to generations."

Listening to Chancellor's background was fascinating. As an entrepreneur, I'm always inspired to learn from successful business owners. It's very clear that Chancellor is passionate about what she does, and loves her 300+ employees and customers. "We truly appreciate our customers. We appreciate the community in which we operate our businesses. We want pepole to know that we are tyring to make a difference in the lives of young people." Around the same time Chancellor made that statement, a high school employee walked by and shared her recent grades with us. Chancellor applauded her employees commendable work.

The  love Chancellor has for McDonald's is contagious, "McDonald's gives people their first opportunity to work and to also figure out what they would like to do in life."  She is dedicated to her business, employees, and uses a hands-on approach.  A member of the National Black McDonald's Operation Association (BMOA) she beams when talking about the 37 other Black Owners/Operators in the Metro Atlanta area. During Black History Month, we celebrate Vicki Chancellor for being a trailblazer in her community.
