I'd love to share a book like this with my boys. It's both a treat and a treasure for them to see people excel who look like them.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great book to share with my students, as part of our third grade book share, and most of all, to share with my son as he grows older. It seems like a great book to help children acquire a love and a passion for reading.
ReplyDeleteI'd read this book to Alex and possibly share it with his school library! sutherngurl2000@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI'll read it to my younger cousins, god-children or save it for my future children.

I don't have any kids but if I won I would share it with one of my favorite non-proftits "Everybody Wins Literacy Program". This will give a large group of kids access to this amazing story.
ReplyDeleteI would give this book to my nieces. My children are grown.

This is a great opportunity not only for good reading but to expose more African-American illustrators to our children as well. I would share this with my children and grandchildren and my Grandparents' Raising Grandchildren Support Group so they can share with their grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteI read to my boys every night before bed...this book would be added to the collection.

R. Gregory's illustrations are fantastic! I would enjoy reading it to my daughters and will purchase a few for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely share this book with my students at school. I teach elementary music and if I was to receive this book I would turn this book into a mini musical incorporating pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments to accompany key words through out the book!
ReplyDeleteI would share this book with my husband and son. My #handsomehandful is an avid reader and he's just 17 months old.

The book would be first read by me and my youngest daughter.
ReplyDeleteThen when my oldest daugthers, 2 year old son, stays with his Grammy on Sunday's. We ALWAYS have story time. I kept him MUCH more when he was younger.
Sitting on my lap, me reading him a book has been a tradition, since was very young and one that will NEVER stop. Even when he can read himself. There will always be 'story time with Grammy' at my house.
